JOURNAL STARTS HERE.

So, my power went out today--from 5:30 PM until 11:00 PM. I was in the middle of doing a rather useless entry on here. Just the latest case of meme!AIDS that was circulating. I was halfway through a rather stinging criticism of a pairing I'm not fond of, copy-pasted the entry to save it, bookmarked the page where I was reading a manga online (Inuyasha, if you're asking--I'm ashamed I like it so fucking much now that I'm reading it). Long story short, my entry was BALEETED because I had to save my place while Inuyasha cuntpunts some demon.

A few hours later, I'm dicking about online and listening to music. This is a bad combination, because when I'm left to my own devices while doing any activity--online game, listening to music, even drawing--I get to thinking. A lot of the time, I break out into mini-rants in my head, and I thought this was important enough to share, especially since my rant a month or so back on anti-yaoi sentiment (or a couple, found here [link] if you're interested).

I was listening to some song, but the thought came into my head--it was about in the way-back year of 2001. To be specific, September 11th. Now, before you clench up and think I'm going to go onto some anti-Bush soapbox, heel, kiddos, and listen to my story and it's 100% about KH. We were told we would remember the day, that day, and where we were at. I was cosplaying Duo Maxwell ( [link] ) and I got out of classes that day. Several days later, because wee little Snowpirateroy (or, whatever my name de jour was at the time--it was pre-ShingoBunny) had no internet, she got on frequently at school. Anyways, I would always hit up a website for my Gundam Wing fixation. I fucking LOVED those homosexual boys. I still do. Anyways, there was a site that I adored. Anyways, I came onto it, and the woman had put down her site. Why?

In so many words, she stated that she couldn't support terrorism that resulted in the loss of so many lives, and the Gundam Wing pilots were terrorists--therefore, she had to stop loving the show and the sight of it made her sick.

I sat in front of my slow running high school PC in disbelief.

"What is this?" I thought to myself. "I know that was some scary shit, and the US is probably gonna bomb some people. But, what the FUCK?"

For those pre-Gundam Wing or just never familiar with it, it's about five 14-15 (--Trowa's 15) year old boys that pilot five giant robots. They're fighting for the freedom of the space colonies by attacking the oppressive government, while clearly valuing human life and protecting the innocent (AND THE WEEEAK WOMEN, if you're Wu Fei). Without getting into deep philosophical thoughts on the actions and approaches of the Gundam Wing boys, the anime showed some perspective, but when the day was done, it was a show for boys about blowing up shit with a good deal of political talk. Good vs. evil, saving the world, hating the main lead woman, wondering where Heero kept his guns in his spandex shorts, and wondering why Quatre hadn't proclaimed his love to Trowa yet.

In conclusion, I found this person to be batshit insane as she tried to woo people into thinking the same way, amazed at how people followed her quickly and assuming she was racist over one of the characters and his friends ( [link] and [link] for starters).

Several months later, I go to my first super-special yaoi site I loved. I was a Trowa/Quatre fangirl ( [link] lol official art). The person was taking it down, or at least not updating it often now. Why? She sited that there was a huge war whether or not one character could seme the other, or what. I sat back, astounded once more, with one thought.

"People fight over shit like this? My god, the Gundam Wing fangirls are freaking nuts!!!"

Fast forward to now, me dicking around on websites, having gone through the Gundam Wing phase into Trigun, then King of Fighters to Initial D and finally to Kingdom Hearts. I had to write this journal entry, I thought, as I thought about all of these things.

I have to say, I imagine that there's a lot of my watchers about that age where I was seven years ago (fuckfuckfuck, I'm a geezer). About fourteen-fifteen (younger than that, too), Kingdom Hearts is their "first" series. I thought to myself one thing:

"They must thing everything and everyone is fucking nuts with squabbling."

Possibly, maybe not, the more I think about it. Internet fandom probably isn't such a foreign beast as I thought it to be back then.

I just you guys--and all of you guys that don't consider yourself young...

Kingdom Hearts's fandom IS fucking nuts, but every fandom has fucking nuts people. There's nothing special about our psychos, I assure you. It's not worth leaving over, but if you like it enough, it's worth ignoring the bullshit and doing your own thing. If you do get sick of it, you're going to go into seeing psychos of a different flavor.

I've thought about it before, I've thought why I didn't GONE FOREVARbrb KH many, many times. Then I've thought WHY didn't when those came up. I've probably said to some that "411 is the source from whence all drama comes." It wasn't the first time I sat through retarded bullcrap. Most of my drama in between then and now was just because my choice OTP was odd (Vash/Legato, Iori/Shingo, Ryousuke/Nakazato) and nonexistent.

I've seen people grow disinterested or get furious and leave Kingdom Hearts. I respect their choices 85% of the time for the second of those two. Sometimes I'm happy or sad over their departure. But the drama's more human nature than what should be attributed to a fandom--a common liking of something.

I have people ask me why I'm around after some of the shit, and usually at the time, I just shoulder shrug and go "The fuck if I know owo!"

Why AM I around? I just remove myself from what's pissing me off and go over to someone who's like minded. I bitch and vent with a friend then I pick up after a break--a day or two, a hour, whatever. Make friends, get to know people--don't get sad if someone doesn't become your friend. My big thing that I had to learn, don't make yourself be friends with someone just because you're out there alone in the fandom.

This isn't directed at any body in particular, I assure you. XD Not even the chicks with the Gundam Wing site (I mean, I hated the site going away, but if she was uncomfortable with it, fuck, she ain't my slave).
